Richard E. Seta is currently the President of Universal Security Services.Mr. Seta retired from MBNA America Bank in April of 2005 after 8 years of service as a Senior Executive Vice President, Director of Corporate Security World Wide. In this capacity he was responsible for security operations at 36 sites world wide staffed by a propriety security department of 430 specialists and managers. Mr. Seta directed executive protection, physical security audits, technical security, plastic security (credit cards), aviation and fleet operations.Mr. Seta created and implemented “Code Red” emergency evacuation and shelter in place plans at all MBNA facilities. Planning also included large corporate events world wide and an annual “Company Picnic”, attended by 20,000 employees and their families.Mr. Seta developed a “crisis management” response plan which included response to workplace and domestic violence. This plan required the coordination of efforts of Security, Human Resources, and Health and Safety and continues to be highly successful.During Mr. Seta’s tenure as Director of Corporate Security, the efforts of the Corporate Security Department were acknowledged each year in an independent “100 Best Places to Work” survey conducted by Forbes Magazine. In the latest survey 85% of the employees of MBNA ranked physical safety and security the best thing about working at MBNA.Before joining MBNA, Mr. Seta built a 33 year distinguished career of exceptional service with the New York City Police Department. In that capacity he was the Executive Officer in charge of Detective Operations for Manhattan and was the Commanding Officer of Midtown Precinct South, 9th Precinct and 13th Precinct. Mr. Seta consistently succeeded in reducing crime and gaining community/business approval and support. He achieved his goals through leadership, creative planning and innovation. Mr. Seta also commanded a joint FBI/NYPD organized crime task force that successfully investigated and prosecuted the Luchese and Gambino crime families.Mr. Seta earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York. He has advanced education at Columbia University, Business School, Police Management Institute and the Senior Management Institute for Police. Mr. Seta is a board member of Delaware Crime Stoppers.
